About this task

This Space-technology company making satellite parts (5,000+ employees) is looking for a senior Accounts Receivable & Collections Specialist for an ongoing part-time engagement of 3–6 h a week. Matches incoming payments to open invoices.

The person who did this left, and the company would rather bring in an experienced part-timer than rush a permanent hire. It works in aerospace, where change control and documentation are formal.

The work is fully remote, but the company can only contract people who live in Virginia, so this one is for residents there. The company prefers early-morning hours, before a normal working day starts. About 3 hours a week should overlap with the team's day (ET).

What you deliver

  • Apply the week's receipts to invoices, resolve short payments and post unapplied cash to a holding account.
  • A short handover note when the engagement pauses or ends
  • Questions collected in one thread, answered within one working day
  • A written update every Friday with what was done, what is next and anything blocked

What a week looks like

  • Wednesday: pick up the queue and confirm priorities
  • Midweek: two short working sessions of one to two hours
  • Friday: update sent before the company's end of day

Duration: 16 weeks, renewable. Accepted after the walkthrough. Edits requested within three working days are part of the price.
