About this task
This retail chain selling outdoor gear (51–200 employees) is looking for a senior Accounts Receivable & Collections Specialist for an ongoing part-time engagement of 3–6 h a week. Matches incoming payments to open invoices.
The company wants a senior person on this without carrying the cost of a full-time role. It is a retailer with stores and an online channel, and the team works to a weekly trading rhythm.
The team sits in Columbus. Everything can be done remotely; an occasional visit is welcome and never required for the first month. Most people do this on weekday evenings; replies inside the working day are not expected. About 3 hours a week should overlap with the team's day (ET).
What you deliver
- Apply the week's receipts to invoices, resolve short payments and post unapplied cash to a holding account.
- Questions collected in one thread, answered within one working day
- A short handover note when the engagement pauses or ends
- A written update every Thursday with what was done, what is next and anything blocked
What a week looks like
- Daily: one hour at a time that suits you, inside the agreed window
- Wednesday: ten-minute sync if anything is blocked
- Thursday: weekly summary posted to the shared thread
Duration: 12 weeks, renewable. Accepted on the company's written OK. If something is missed, you fix it in the same week at no extra charge to either side.
