About this task
This publishing house (51–200 employees) is looking for a manager Business Analyst for a single piece of work with a fixed scope and a fixed price. Costs, benefits and risks for a proposed change.
The company has a deadline, no one free to own it, and wants a person who has done the same job before. It publishes content on a schedule, so editorial deadlines are fixed.
The team sits in Boulder. Everything can be done remotely; an occasional visit is welcome and never required for the first month. You choose your hours; nothing is scheduled except an occasional short call.
What you deliver
- Prepare the business case for automating invoice entry with a three-year cost and benefit model.
- The finished deliverable in the agreed file format, with sources and assumptions listed
- A final note stating what was checked and what was left out of scope
- One round of edits after the company's review is included
How the work runs
- Day 1: kickoff call and access to the files
- Days 2 to 8: the work, with questions answered the same day
- Last day: delivery and a short walkthrough
Duration: 1 to 2 weeks. Accepted when the output matches the agreed checklist and the sample check passes; the recruiter confirms by e-mail.
