About this task
This Series B online retailer for home goods (201–500 employees) is looking for a manager Payroll Specialist for an ongoing part-time engagement of 3–6 h a week. Collects changes, runs the payroll and checks the register.
The team is stretched and wants steady, predictable help instead of another full-time hire. It sells online, so volumes move with promotions and the calendar matters.
The team sits in Helsinki. Everything can be done remotely; an occasional visit is welcome and never required for the first month. You choose your hours; nothing is scheduled except an occasional short call. About 1 hour a week should overlap with the team's day (EET).
What you deliver
- Run the bi-weekly payroll for 100 employees, compare to the prior run and resolve variances above 5%.
- A written update every Thursday with what was done, what is next and anything blocked
- A short handover note when the engagement pauses or ends
- Questions collected in one thread, answered within one working day
What a week looks like
- Monday: 15-minute check-in to agree the week's items
- Tuesday: main working block (2 hours)
- Thursday: hand-off note with what shipped and what is open
Duration: 16 weeks, renewable. Accepted on the company's written OK. If something is missed, you fix it in the same week at no extra charge to either side.
