About this task
This specialty insurer for gig workers (201–500 employees) is looking for a senior Payroll Specialist for an ongoing part-time engagement of 3–6 h a week. Collects changes, runs the payroll and checks the register.
The person who did this left, and the company would rather bring in an experienced part-timer than rush a permanent hire. It is an insurer, so accuracy and an audit trail come before speed.
The team sits in Ferrara. Everything can be done remotely; an occasional visit is welcome and never required for the first month. You choose your hours; nothing is scheduled except an occasional short call. About 2 hours a week should overlap with the team's day (CET).
What you deliver
- Run the bi-weekly payroll for 80 employees, compare to the prior run and resolve variances above 5%.
- Work logged against the agreed list, so the company contact can see progress without a call
- Questions collected in one thread, answered within one working day
- A short handover note when the engagement pauses or ends
What a week looks like
- Tuesday: 15-minute check-in to agree the week's items
- Monday: main working block (2 hours)
- Wednesday: hand-off note with what shipped and what is open
Duration: 12 weeks, renewable. Accepted on the company's written OK. If something is missed, you fix it in the same week at no extra charge to either side.
