About this task
This specialty insurer for professional liability (51–200 employees) is looking for a manager Month-End Close Accountant for an ongoing part-time engagement of 1–2 h a week. Reconciles each balance sheet account and documents the support.
The person who did this left, and the company would rather bring in an experienced part-timer than rush a permanent hire. It is an insurer, so accuracy and an audit trail come before speed.
The team sits in San Francisco. Everything can be done remotely; an occasional visit is welcome and never required for the first month. The work runs in two set slots a week, agreed with the team at the start. About 3 hours a week should overlap with the team's day (PT).
What you deliver
- Reconcile 40 balance sheet accounts for October and record preparer notes on every item above $1,000.
- Work logged against the agreed list, so the company contact can see progress without a call
- A written update every Monday with what was done, what is next and anything blocked
- Questions collected in one thread, answered within one working day
What a week looks like
- Wednesday: 15-minute check-in to agree the week's items
- Thursday: main working block (1 hours)
- Monday: hand-off note with what shipped and what is open
Duration: 12 weeks, renewable. Accepted when the output matches the agreed checklist and the sample check passes; the recruiter confirms by e-mail.
