About this task
This digital bank serving small businesses (11–50 employees) is looking for a manager Month-End Close Accountant for an ongoing part-time engagement of 1–2 h a week. Reconciles each balance sheet account and documents the support.
Workload peaks and dips, so a few fixed hours a week fit better than a full-time seat. It is a regulated bank; the work is documented and reviewed before anything is signed off.
The team sits in Kokomo. Everything can be done remotely; an occasional visit is welcome and never required for the first month. The work runs in two set slots a week, agreed with the team at the start.
What you deliver
- Reconcile 20 balance sheet accounts for October and record preparer notes on every item above $1,000.
- A short handover note when the engagement pauses or ends
- Work logged against the agreed list, so the company contact can see progress without a call
- A written update every Thursday with what was done, what is next and anything blocked
What a week looks like
- Daily: one hour at a time that suits you, inside the agreed window
- Tuesday: ten-minute sync if anything is blocked
- Thursday: weekly summary posted to the shared thread
Duration: 6 months, then month by month. Accepted when the output matches the agreed checklist and the sample check passes; the recruiter confirms by e-mail.
