About this task
This specialty insurer for homeowners (501–1,000 employees) is looking for a senior Month-End Close Accountant for an ongoing part-time engagement of 1–2 h a week. Reconciles each balance sheet account and documents the support.
Workload peaks and dips, so a few fixed hours a week fit better than a full-time seat. It is an insurer, so accuracy and an audit trail come before speed.
The team sits in Clovis. Everything can be done remotely; an occasional visit is welcome and never required for the first month. The company prefers early-morning hours, before a normal working day starts. About 2 hours a week should overlap with the team's day (PT).
What you deliver
- Reconcile 25 balance sheet accounts for October and record preparer notes on every item above $1,000.
- A written update every Wednesday with what was done, what is next and anything blocked
- A short handover note when the engagement pauses or ends
- Work logged against the agreed list, so the company contact can see progress without a call
What a week looks like
- Tuesday: 15-minute check-in to agree the week's items
- Friday: main working block (1 hours)
- Wednesday: hand-off note with what shipped and what is open
Duration: 16 weeks, renewable. Accepted when the company contact confirms the deliverable against the written checklist. One round of edits is included.
