About this task
This boutique advisory firm for the public sector (5,000+ employees) is looking for a manager Month-End Close Accountant for an ongoing part-time engagement of 1–2 h a week. Reconciles each balance sheet account and documents the support.
The person who did this left, and the company would rather bring in an experienced part-timer than rush a permanent hire. It is a consulting firm, so client deadlines set the pace and handover notes are expected.
The team sits in Cary. Everything can be done remotely; an occasional visit is welcome and never required for the first month. The company prefers early-morning hours, before a normal working day starts. About 3 hours a week should overlap with the team's day (ET).
What you deliver
- Reconcile 30 balance sheet accounts for October and record preparer notes on every item above $1,000.
- A short handover note when the engagement pauses or ends
- Work logged against the agreed list, so the company contact can see progress without a call
- Questions collected in one thread, answered within one working day
What a week looks like
- Wednesday: 15-minute check-in to agree the week's items
- Thursday: main working block (1 hours)
- Friday: hand-off note with what shipped and what is open
Duration: 12 weeks, renewable. Accepted when the company contact confirms the deliverable against the written checklist. One round of edits is included.
