About this task
This omnichannel retailer with 40 stores (5,000+ employees) is looking for a manager Fractional Controller for a monthly bundle of recurring tasks, 12–24 h a month. The schedules and support an auditor requests, ready before fieldwork starts.
A named list of recurring items keeps the month predictable for both sides. It is a retailer with stores and an online channel, and the team works to a weekly trading rhythm.
The company prefers a person who can come to Montreal for kickoff and the final review; the rest is remote. Evenings or weekends are fine, as long as the agreed weekly output is there.
What you deliver
- Prepare the PBC list for a year-end audit: fixed assets, accruals, debt, equity and revenue schedules.
- The monthly list of items completed, each with a link to the result
- A month-end summary with hours used against the cap
- A running log of open questions, reviewed at the start of each week
What a month looks like
- Start of month: the company shares the items and the priorities
- Mid-month: progress check of 15 minutes
- Month end: hours used against the cap, results and open items
Duration: 6 months, with a monthly hours cap. Accepted when the company contact confirms the deliverable against the written checklist. One round of edits is included.
