About this task

This education foundation (501–1,000 employees) is looking for a senior Month-End Close Accountant for an ongoing part-time engagement of 1–2 h a week. Prepares and posts accrual and prepaid entries with support.

The company wants a senior person on this without carrying the cost of a full-time role. It is a nonprofit, so budgets are tight and grant reporting dates are fixed.

The team sits in New York City. Everything can be done remotely; an occasional visit is welcome and never required for the first month. The work runs in two set slots a week, agreed with the team at the start. About 1 hour a week should overlap with the team's day (ET).

What you deliver

• Prepare October accruals for 30 vendors and amortise six prepaid contracts, with support in a shared folder.
• Questions collected in one thread, answered within one working day
• A short handover note when the engagement pauses or ends
• A written update every Wednesday with what was done, what is next and anything blocked

What a week looks like

• Friday: 15-minute check-in to agree the week's items
• Thursday: main working block (1 hours)
• Wednesday: hand-off note with what shipped and what is open

Duration: 16 weeks, renewable. Accepted when the output matches the agreed checklist and the sample check passes; the recruiter confirms by e-mail.
