About this task
This online marketplace for children's clothing (5,000+ employees) is looking for a senior Month-End Close Accountant for an ongoing part-time engagement of 1–2 h a week. Prepares and posts accrual and prepaid entries with support.
The team is stretched and wants steady, predictable help instead of another full-time hire. It sells online, so volumes move with promotions and the calendar matters.
The team sits in New York City. Everything can be done remotely; an occasional visit is welcome and never required for the first month. The work runs in two set slots a week, agreed with the team at the start. About 1 hour a week should overlap with the team's day (ET).
What you deliver
- Prepare October accruals for 30 vendors and amortise six prepaid contracts, with support in a shared folder.
- A written update every Monday with what was done, what is next and anything blocked
- Work logged against the agreed list, so the company contact can see progress without a call
- A short handover note when the engagement pauses or ends
What a week looks like
- Daily: one hour at a time that suits you, inside the agreed window
- Thursday: ten-minute sync if anything is blocked
- Monday: weekly summary posted to the shared thread
Duration: 16 weeks, renewable. Accepted after the walkthrough. Edits requested within three working days are part of the price.
