Applies to: Companies Version 1.0 Updated 4 November 2026 ## The short version - You pay the professional's rate plus a 15% service fee; there is no placement fee if you hire someone directly. - You prepay for the agreed hours or scope, in USD, CAD, GBP or EUR. - One free round of rework, a replacement if a task falls through, and a refund of the prepayment for work that is not delivered. Questions ## 01 Who these terms cover# These terms apply to a company, or to a person acting for a company, that requests professionals through Deftridge. The United States and Canada are served by Deftridge, Inc.; the United Kingdom and the European Union by Deftridge Ltd. Your order confirmation names the contracting entity. ## 02 Requests, shortlists and engagements# You describe the work and the hours you need. A recruiter replies with three to five anonymous profiles, normally within 48 hours, each with experience, tools, hours offered and the hourly rate. After you choose a profile and the professional agrees, we confirm the scope, hours cap, start date and rate in writing. That confirmation, together with these terms, is the contract for the engagement. ## 03 Fees and prepayment# The price is the professional's agreed hourly rate plus a 15% service fee, with no other charges. You prepay for the hours or scope in the engagement confirmation and are invoiced in USD, CAD, GBP or EUR. Taxes such as VAT or sales tax are added where they apply. Unused prepaid hours are credited or refunded when the engagement ends. ## 04 Independent professionals# Professionals are independent contractors, not employees of Deftridge or of your company. You direct the outcome, not the way the work is done, and you may not require fixed schedules or exclusivity. You are responsible for checking that the arrangement is appropriate under the rules of your jurisdiction. ## 05 Rework, replacement and refund# If a deliverable does not match the agreed checklist, you can request one round of rework within five business days at no cost. If the work is still not accepted, we refund the prepayment for that task. On an ongoing role we replace a professional free of charge if you ask within the first two weeks, and refund hours that you did not confirm. If a professional cannot continue, we propose a replacement within 48 hours. ## 06 Hiring a professional directly# You may offer a professional a full-time position at any time. Deftridge charges no placement, conversion or finder's fee, now or later. ## 07 Confidentiality and acceptable use# Share only the information the professional needs for the task, and do not share regulated personal data unless the engagement and our [data processing addendum](https://deftridge.com/dpa/) cover it. Both sides keep confidential information confidential during the engagement and for two years after it. You will not use Deftridge to recruit staff for unlawful work or to discriminate. ## 08 Liability# Deftridge introduces professionals and operates the payment service. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for an engagement is limited to the fees you paid for it. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
