## About this task

This insurtech company for professional liability (11–50 employees) is looking for a manager Business Analyst for an ongoing part-time engagement of 3–6 h a week. Writes and refines stories so engineers can start.

Workload peaks and dips, so a few fixed hours a week fit better than a full-time seat. It is an insurer, so accuracy and an audit trail come before speed.

The work is fully remote. Any location in Canada works, with a few hours of overlap with the team's day. Most people do this on weekday evenings; replies inside the working day are not expected. About 3 hours a week should overlap with the team's day (PT).

## What you deliver

- Refine 12 backlog stories each week with acceptance criteria and open questions listed.

- A short handover note when the engagement pauses or ends

- A written update every Thursday with what was done, what is next and anything blocked

- Questions collected in one thread, answered within one working day

## What a week looks like

- Tuesday: pick up the queue and confirm priorities

- Midweek: two short working sessions of one to two hours

- Thursday: update sent before the company's end of day

**Duration:** 6 months, then month by month. Accepted when the company contact confirms the deliverable against the written checklist. One round of edits is included.

## Tools

Jira Confluence

## Who fits

- 7-12 years of hands-on work as a Business Analyst, or the equivalent mix of roles

- Comfortable working in Jira and Confluence

- Your own work history stays private; the company sees a first name, your field and a rate

### Nice to have

- Comfortable explaining numbers or decisions to a non-specialist reader

- Experience in a similar industry

## Not included

- Work outside the scope written in the brief; extra items are quoted separately

- Managing other contractors or employees

- Travel or work at a fixed location

## How you get paid

- The company prepays Deftridge before your first hour, so payment does not depend on a late invoice.

- Deftridge pays you in CAD after the company confirms the hours or the deliverable. The payment date is written in your task agreement.

- You work as an independent contractor: you report your own income, and your recruiter sends the statements your accountant needs.

- You never chase the company. Questions about money go to Deftridge.

## What happens after you say you're interested

1. **Within one working day** A recruiter writes to you to confirm your hours and the rate you want.

1. **You agree the rate** You and the recruiter fix an exact rate inside the company's range. You decide whether to go ahead.

1. **With your written OK** The company sees the anonymous profile below. Most companies answer within three working days.
